Pimples are the most common form of Acne that affects most of us, even once in our lifetime. Sometimes, it goes out on the most prominent part of your face like your nose which is so irritating.  If you are so lucky, you can have a breakout of it all over your face! And that’s the dilemma we all don’t want to deal with. But the good news is that there are natural ways to say goodbye to these irritating pop-outs on your face! Below are known home remedies and lifestyle changes that are tested effective and useful to get rid of these unfriendly pimples.

 

  1. Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil has natural anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that can kill bacteria that cause pimples. It also reduces swelling and redness when applied to the skin. A 2015 study showed that tea tree oil products can reduce the number of acne scars in people with mild to moderate breakouts. 

There are creams and gels with tea tree extract that you buy over the counter. If you are using an essential oil, be sure to dilute it first in a carrier oil or vegetable oil like grapeseed so it won’t irritate your skin.

  1. Coconut oil

Coconut oil also contains anti-inflammatory and antibacterial compounds. It destroys acne-causing bacteria and reduces the redness and swelling of pimples. It also speeds up the healing of open acne sores.

You can use it by rubbing virgin coconut oil directly into the affected area.

  1. Jojoba Oil

Jojoba oil helps to repair damaged skin and speeds up wound healing. It also reduces skin inflammation, redness, and swelling. 

You can place a few drops of jojoba oil on a cotton pad and rub it gently over acne soars. Or you can mix it with gels, cream, or clay face mask and use it 2 to 3 times a week. 

  1. Honey

Honey is known for its natural anti-bacterial and wound-healing properties. It also contains antioxidants that can help to clear waste and debris from clogged pores. You can apply it directly to your pimple or you can mix it with your face or body mask. 

  1. Garlic

Just like honey, garlic is also known as a natural anti-bacterial. It helps to treat infections and boost the body’s ability to fight germs and infections.

Unlike the previous remedies, garlic is not advised to be applied directly to your skin because it might lead to skin irritation and burning. You can just more of it to your diet and if you can, you can chew cloves of it or make it a hot drink.

  1. Aloe Vera

Aloe vera has natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that help to reduce the appearance of acne and prevent breakouts. It is also an excellent moisturizer perfect for those who have dry skin. You can directly apply creams and gels with at least 10% of aloe vera content directly to the skin.

  1. Rosemary

Juts like other rosemary extract also contain chemicals and compounds that have antioxidant, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties.

You can dilute 3-4 drops of rosemary essential oil into a teaspoon of carrier oil and massage it into the affected area. You can also mix it with your body wash. It is great for fighting acne.

  1. Green tea

Green Tea has a high level of antioxidants that can help to reduce skin inflammation and break down chemicals and waste products that can damage healthy cells. 

You can use green tea as a drink or you can apply a green tea extract directly to your skin.

  1. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar is known for its ability to fight many types of bacteria and viruses. It also contains organic acids that have been shown to kill acne bacteria, suppress inflammation, and improve the appearance of acne scars. 

You can use it by mixing a part of apple cider vinegar with 3 parts of water. Apply the mixture to your face with a cotton ball and rinse it with water after 20 seconds. You can do this once or twice daily for the best results. 

  1. Tooth Paste 

As a cleaning agent, toothpaste also has anti-bacterial properties that can fight pimple-causing bacteria. It is an instant solution to your embarrassing pimples since it is readily in everyone’s house. 

You can apply a dollop of white toothpaste on the pimples and let it stay overnight. Wash it off with water the next morning and see how your pimple bid goodbye that fast. 

  1. Aspirin

Aspirin is known as an anti-inflammatory drug and its content can help the skin fight inflammation, reducing swelling, redness, and most especially pain. It is unusual but it is an effective remedy for pimples. 

To use it you can crush a couple of aspirin tablets and add a small amount of water to make a paste. Apply this paste to the pimples and cover it. Let it dry overnight and wash it off with water the next morning.

  1. Egg Whites

This protein-rich ingredient is a savior in case of sudden pimple breakouts. Apply egg white on the pimples with your fingers, let it dry overnight then wash it off with slightly warm water the next morning.

  1. Baking Soda

Baking soda is an effective remedy for skin problems such as pimples. 

Make a paste by mixing baking soda with a few drops of water. Apply it to the pimple and leave it on the face for 10 minutes or till it dries, then wash it off with water.

  1. Echinacea

Echinacea also known as the purple coneflower contains compounds that help destroy viruses and bacteria. It can also boost the immune system reduce inflammation and fight off or prevent infections, including colds and cases of flu.

You can apply creams containing Echinacea to areas affected by pimples or you take Echinacea supplements which you can buy at health stores.

  1.  Purified bee venom

Just like honey, bee venom has been known to contain antibacterial properties. There are cosmetic products that contain purified bee venom that were proven to destroy acne bacteria and improve acne lesions.

But aside from using different products and natural remedies to fight pimples, there are also things that you need to change in your lifestyle to prevent pimples from coming or breaking out.

Never touch pimples

Even if it is very tempting to pop out that pimple, you should not be doing so because it can lead to further infections that can worsen your problem. If your case, looks more severe than usual you can go to a specialist to know what is the best thing to do.

Choose the right cleanser

Choose a cleanser with a pH closer to your skin’s natural pH which is 5.5. This can reduce the risk of acne flare-ups and let sores heal. Cleansers with a pH higher than the natural can irritate your skin and can worsen your problem.

Stay hydrated

Dryness can irritate and damage skin which can result in pimples. So it is advised to be always hydrated by drinking a lot of water to ensure the development of new cells for faster sore healing and more other health benefits.

Reduce stress

Too much stress causes levels of androgen hormones to increase that also increases the risk of acne. So it is best to avoid things that stress you or you can do things to manage the stress you are into which includes getting enough sleep, eating a balanced diet, limiting alcohol and caffeine intake, and maintaining a happy peaceful relationship with people around you.
